JOB DESCRIPTION
The Genomics and transcriptomics of synucleinopathies (GTS) group focuses on themolecular characterization of Lewy body diseases. Over the past 10 years we havespecialized in dementia with Lewy bodies with the goal to provide peripheraldiagnostic markers. Now, we are looking for a Predoctoral Fellow for an ambitiousproject with an important social impact, especially for patients and their families. Youwill participate in a Research Project to characterize different biomarker sources, andin the development of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for Lewy body disorders.This entirely translational research project aims to offer solutions for patients,clinicians, and the development of therapeutic strategies. The successfulaccomplishment of the validation studies will be essential for the creation of a spin-offcompany.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in sample obtaining and processing.
- Conduct RNA expression studies including data analyses.
- Conduct cell culture-based experiments.
- Conduct Luminex- and ELISA-based protein quantification assyas.
- Conduct platelet characterization by cytometry, RNAseq, proteomic techniques with the corresponding data analyses.
- Conduct in RT-Quick/SAA.
- Conduct data analyses, interpret the results, present and discuss them.
- Draft manuscripts / manuscript sections.
- Participate in updating and maintaining laboratory databases.
- Laboratory management (availability and readiness of laboratory materials and
- reagents)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE
The applicant must have the following qualifications:
- Master in Science with special focus in molecular and cellular biology and/or neuroscience.
- Working experience of at least 24 months
- Experience in sample handling and processing
- Strong experience in molecular biology techniques (DNA and RNA isolation, RNA quantification, PCR and genotyping).
- Experience in cell culture (astrocytes, microglia).
- Experience in protein quantification (Luminex, ELISA).
- Experience in cytometry.
- Experience in RT-Quick/SAA.
- Experience in Data analyses using
- Experience in confocal microscopy and imatge analyses.
- Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge in databases (good knowledge of excel required).
- Knowledge Rstudio and data anlysis.
- Poster presentation in at least one international congress/conference.
- To be able to work independently and take initiative.
- Take an active part of the team.
- Be accurate and have a strong feeling of responsibility.
- Be perseverant and have a strong ambition to learn.
- English level corresponding to C1
- Good oral and written communications skills.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Indefinite contract (Science Law 14/2011)
- 38-hour/week contract.
- Starting July 1st, 2026
- Gross annual remuneration inherent in the position covered by this call, will be set according to the amount awarded for the grant awarded, distributed in 12 payments.
