Beyond its strong disciplinary research areas, IGTP is a key driver of large-scale, strategic projects that position the institute at the forefront of biomedical innovation:
GCAT | Genomes for Life:
A flagship population genomics project in Catalonia, designed to advance precision medicine by integrating genomic, clinical, and lifestyle data from thousands of participants. GCAT offers unique opportunities for researchers interested in population health, genomics, data science, and translational research with direct societal impact.CMCiB | Is a unique preclinical research centre and advanced training facility, designed to facilitate a wide range of preclinical studies along the development track, ultimately enabling advances in biomedical research to reach the patient.
Serving as a pivotal tech-transfer tool within the international health ecosystem, it has hosted multiple projects and fostered public-private collaborations that have contributed to bringing research outcomes to clinical trials or the market.
As a strategic project of the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) at the Can Ruti Campus in Badalona, its mission is to become a European reference centre in biomedical research and translational medicine, fully embracing the 3R principles and the highest quality standards.
These initiatives provide exceptional platforms, cohorts, data resources, and collaborative networks for established researchers seeking to lead ambitious research programs with real-world impact.
