JOB DESCRIPTION
The Biostatistics Unit at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) provides a full range of statistical services to IGTP campus researchers and external public and private organisations. We support researchers throughout the entire research process, from study design and planning to data analysis and interpretation of results. Our mission is to improve the quality and rigour of biomedical research by providing expert biostatistical guidance. Our team consists of five highly qualified statisticians and mathematicians with extensive experience in health research.
We are seeking a senior biostatistician to provide statistical and methodological expertise within our unit. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of making valuable contributions independently, from developing protocols and designing analysis plans to conducting complex statistical analyses and interpreting results for publication. They will be responsible for guiding statistical strategy, mentoring junior staff and ensuring the highest standards of analytical integrity across our projects.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing statistical leadership across unit projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide statistical leadership from study design through analysis, including developing statistical analysis plans, determining methodological strategy, and serving as the lead biostatistician on assigned projects.
- Perform advanced statistical analyses, interpret results, and author/review the statistical content for study reports, manuscripts, and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure analytical quality and mentor junior team members through oversight of statistical programming and methodology.
- Collaborate closely with clinical, regulatory, and data management teams to align statistical strategy with overall project goals.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.
The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus. IGTP is a CERCA centre and is also accredited as a centre of excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and is in charge of coordinating the management and scientific strategy of the campus, working in close collaboration with the other centres.
