The Institut d’Investigació en Ciències de la Salut Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP) is seeking to incorporate a Research Funding & Partnerships Manager to support the DM1-Hub Project, a national registry for Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 (DM1).
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying public and private funding opportunities, coordinating and writing research proposals, and facilitating strategic collaborations with external partners (companies, foundations, or other institutions) to ensure the continuity and sustainability of the DM1-Hub.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify competitive funding opportunities (national, European, and private) aligned with the DM1-Hub objectives.
  • Support the preparation and writing of research proposals and funding applications.
  • Coordinate the submission process in collaboration with the scientific, administrative, and legal teams of IGTP.
  • Identify potential private partners (companies, foundations, associations) and explore opportunities for collaboration and co-funding.
  • Support the negotiation and formalization of collaboration agreements under IGTP’s supervision.
  • Monitor ongoing projects, reporting deadlines, and deliverables to ensure compliance.
  • Establish and strengthen professional partnerships with neurologists and neuropediatric specialists, both in Spain and across Latin America, to expand the DM1-Hub’s clinical and research network.
  • Provide support in any emerging needs of the DM1-Hub project during its development, contributing proactively to ensure its successful implementation.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the DM1-Hub’s long-term sustainability.
  • Represent the DM1-Hub in networking, scientific, and partnership-related events when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE
  • PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Research, or related disciplines.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish; knowledge of Catalan will be valued.
  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in research project management, proposal writing, or fundraising activities.
  • Strong understanding of national and European funding mechanisms, and/or experience in collaboration with the private sector.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive, autonomous, and results-oriented person with strategic vision and initiative.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Indefinite contract (Science Law 14/2011) linked to DM1-Hub is funded through a grant PMPER24/00007 from ISCIII for Research Projects on Rare Diseases, from the 2024 Call for Joint Missions of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, under the PERTE for Vanguard Health and within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
  • Full-time position.
  • Starting date: as soon as possible.
  • Annual gross salary: 33.000 €/year (distributed in 12 payments).
  • 23 working days of vacation and 5 personal days per year.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.

The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus.
