JOB DESCRIPTION
The IGTP is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated laboratory technician to join the
Retrovirology and Clinical Studies Lab at IrsiCaixa, all located at Biomedical Campus Can Ruti in Badalona (Barcelona).
The selected candidate will support ongoing scientific projects in a lab with a large trajectory in the study of infectious diseases. She/he will assist in the development of strategies for HIV eradication that will require the implementation of new molecular and cell culture techniques in the team. Besides, the candidate will conduct experiments in animal models to investigate biodistribution and viral inhibition of therapeutic agents, what will require the work in Biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) facilities.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The tasks to be carried out are related to the support of the current research in the team:
- Technical activities: Cell culture, molecular biology, sample and blood processing, flow cytometry, ddPCR, use of BSL-2 and BSL-3 facilities, etc.
- Complementary activities: Lab organization, protocol development, analysis of the results of the different technologies, results reporting, etc.
- Maintenance activities: support periodic maintenance of the lab organization.
- Training activities: attendance to the group meetings and open to learn of the research topic and improve the skills.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.
