JOB DESCRIPTION
The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is looking for a veterinarian co-supervisor to supervise the day-to-day management within the Advanced Surgery Area, under the supervision and guidance of the Head of the Area, at the Comparative Medicine and Bioimage Centre (CMCiB).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE
- Requires possession of a veterinary degree.
- Requires registration with the COVB or the ability to register.
- Requires demonstrable experience of 5 years in veterinary practice or research centres with large animals.
- Requires demonstrable experience in team management/people for at least 2 years, with the willingness and abilities to coordinate and manage multidisciplinary groups in their daily tasks.
- Requires willingness to work with animal models of different species, both large and small animals, at different levels of biocontainment, and with alternative methods, including anatomical specimens and tissues, in order to support biomedical research.
- Requires proficiency in both spoken and written English.
The following will be valued:
- Having completed a master's degree, postgraduate courses, or other regulated post-university training.
- Having the required training for functions a, b, and c for animal experimentation.
- Experience working with quality regulations (GLP, GMP, AAALAC, ISO...).
- Experience in gas anaesthesia and surgery, as well as in the use of diagnostic technologies for veterinary imaging (X-ray, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, laparoscopy, endoscopy...).

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is a public research centre located in Badalona. Its main objective is to increase scientific knowledge in order to transform it into solutions to improve the health and medical care of patients and the community.
The Institute is associated with one of the major university hospitals in the Barcelona area, the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, and is part of the Can Ruti biomedical campus. IGTP is a CERCA centre and is also accredited as a centre of excellence by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) and is in charge of coordinating the management and scientific strategy of the campus, working in close collaboration with the other centres.
