JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher specialized in Internal Medicine for participating in a collaborative research action between the ACROMICS research project (IP M. Puig-Domingo) and the Medical Consequences of Substance Use Disorder research project (IP R. Muga).
The endocrinology-related work will consist in coordinating the final recruitment of cases with their clinical information, metabolic and radiological data and imaging information as well as some additional pathologic data of diverse patient cohorts. This work will be done at the Endocrine tumour’s biology laboratory.

The Addiction Medicine research tasks will be focused on developing research projects on Alcohol Use Disorder, which are part of the collaborative research network RICORS/ISCIII (RD24/0003/0019.  This work will be carried out at the Addiction Unit. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties to be performed by the candidate will be 50% in the Endocrinology research group, and 50% in the Addiction research group.
 
Within the Endocrinology research group, the candidate will have the following duties:
  • Contact with the centres participating in the ACROMICS project to support the IP in the development of different work packages, mostly in those involving patients’ participation
  • Follow-up of patients with or without pituitary disease and or metabolic liver disease with or without alcohol consumption
  • Help to fill data bases and evaluation of analytical data
Within the Addiction research group, the candidate will have the following duties:
  • Developing longitudinal analysis to address long-term mortality related to Alcohol Use Disorder in a multicentre Spanish cohort (CohRTA Study)
  • Analysis of poly-drug use in Alcohol Use Disorder
  • Characterization of cardiovascular, metabolic and liver damage in Alcohol Use Disorder 
  • Maintenance and cleaning of databases held in the Addiction Unit
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE
  • Required level of education: PhD in biomedical science or similar /Medicine.
  • Languages: Spanish and English
  • Specific knowledge: internal medicine, general biology, statistics, data base management and scientific writing skills.
  • Personal skills: good communicator and facility to work in a team.
  • Master of Public Health; advanced research methods knowledge will be valued. 
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Type of contract and working hours: Temporary contract (12 months). This contract is linked to the project PMP22/00021 "ACROMICS: next-generation precision medicine in the diagnosis and treatment of Acromegaly" and  RD24/0003/0019 "RED DE INVESTIGACIÓN EN ATENCIÓN PRIMARIA DE ADICCIONES (RIAPAd)"  Full-time contract. 
  • Date of incorporation: as soon as possible
  • Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.
  • Flexible payment (childminding vouchers).
  • 23 days holiday and 5 days for personal matters + 2 days for Easter + 2 days for Christmas.
